Ramírez Barrios returns to San Martín with the intention of fighting well above

San Martín de Corrientes decided to keep the project technically headed by Diego Vadell for the next National Basketball League. For that, he renewed almost the entire squad from last season and made few additions seeking to make another leap in quality.

Among the incorporations is an acquaintance of the house, Fabián Ramírez Barrios. After nine seasons, the correntino intern will wear the Rojinegro jacket again.

“The truth is that the club had already wanted to count on me a few seasons ago, but for one reason or another it didn’t happen, but today. After such a long time, I am once again part of a great entity that gave me many joys, ”said Ramírez Barrios.

The 31-year-old power forward comes from playing in Quimsa de Santiago del Estero where he was champion of the League of the Americas, won the Super 20 and achieved the runner-up of the National League 2019-2020.

Previously, he spent four seasons at Regatas Corrientes. He also played for Olímpico de La Banda, Boca Juniors, Baurú from Brazil and San Martín himself.

After nine seasons, he decided to turn around the club in the La Cruz neighborhood in the capital of Corrientes.

“There is always the possibility of returning when you leave a club that gave you so much,” said the intern.

“It grabs me,” he added, “in a very good moment both personally and in sports. Today I have more experience and I am more mature ”.

Ramírez Barrios, along with Leonardo Mainoldi (another player who returns to the club) and Santiago Ferreyra are the additions that San Martín made for the next season. They join Gastón García, Matías Solanas, Emiliano Basabe, Javier Saiz, Rolando Vallejos, Franco Méndez, Maximiliano Andreatta and Franco Alorda, while once the competition in Mexico ends – it would be in December – Jonathan Machuca will join.

“I see the team very well. Although this is just beginning, a very good base from the previous season was maintained, where we are complementing each other very well ”, stated the player who emerged from the club Hercules de Corrientes.

The first challenge that San Martín will have to face is the Super 20 that will begin on September 24 and will have it integrating the North Conference that will play in the city of Córdoba.

“The objectives are always being raised as the competition progresses, for now our task is to prepare ourselves in the best way for the start of the Super 20,” he said.

San Martín was one of the Argentine teams that had to participate in the canceled South American League, therefore after the first contest of the season it will target the National League.

“We will always give our best to leave the club as high as possible in each tournament that participates,” he concluded.

The San Martín team began its second week of preparation yesterday for what will be its debut in the Super 20, next Friday the 24th when it will face Olímpico de La Banda.
