PSG-Lyon: optimism prevails for Mbappé

The trip to Bruges on Wednesday night in the Champions League may have cost PSG only two points and not necessarily a hard blow. Four days after the draw (1-1) conceded in Flemish lands for the start of its European campaign, Paris could finally be able to count on the services of Kylian Mbappé this Sunday (8:45 p.m.), for the shock of the 6th day of Ligue 1 against OL.

Victim of a shock in the front of the left foot at the Jan-Breydel stadium, the Parisian striker had to leave his partners in the 51st game on Wednesday night. After the points split between the two teams, Mauricio Pochettino did not seem worried about the injury of the international tricolor which he then thought was a slight twist of the ankle. While the trauma to the player’s left big toe did not reveal any fractures or cracks, the attacker did not train with the group the next day. But the positive evolution of his injury suggests that Mbappé could be fit for the service for the reception of Lyon at the Parc des Princes. A decision will be made on Sunday.

Without Verratti but with Gueye

“He trained with the group taking some precautions,” explained Mauricio Pochettino this Saturday at a press conference. We’ll see how he is tomorrow morning to see if he can participate in the match. “After a mixed start on Wednesday, the MNM may therefore have the opportunity to refine its automatisms for the great debut of Leo Messi at the Parc des Princes. If Mbappé was ultimately not able to hold his place, the hard blow would however be mitigated by the return of Angel Di Maria who, suspended three matches in the Champions League, is however available for domestic competitions. Like Idrissa Gueye, also fit after being deprived of a European stage on Wednesday, the Argentinian will therefore make his return to a workforce still cut off from some of its vital forces.

Returning from selection with a contusion to his left knee, Marco Verratti still has to subject himself to at least a week of care before hoping to be able to resume training. If he has resumed individual preparation on the field, Sergio Ramos is not yet fit for service, like Juan Bernat, despite his resumption with the group. The young Ismael Gharbi continues his care for his groin discomfort and will resume with the group next week.

Possible PSG team: Navas (or Donnarumma) – Hakimi, Marquinhos (ch.), Kimpembe, N. Mendes – Herrera, Gueye, Wijnaldum (or Paredes) – Messi, Mbappé (or Di Maria), Neymar.
