Co-CEO Tanya Snyder, co-CEO of the Washington Football Team was interviewed in the last episode of The Adam Schefter Podcast, by journalist Adam Schefter, ESPN USA, published this Tuesday (7).

Among the subjects covered in the program was the possible future name of the franchise, which has been using Football Team since 2020. According to Snyder, three names are favorites. However, when questioned by Schefter, she refused to say them publicly.

Tanya Snyder: We’re down to three names.

Adam Schefter: Can we say what these three names are?

Snyder: No.

Schefter: I heard eight. I heard: Armada, Presidents, Brigade, Redhawks, Commanders, Redwolves, Defenders, WFT. I believe these are the candidates, right?

Snyder: Sim.

Just to illustrate, previously, the name of the franchise was called Washington Redskins. However, due to pressure from the NFL and sponsors, the team changed its name to Football Team while not finding a new one, as it is considered racist against Native Americans.

It is likely that the name of the WFT team will be defined in the 2022 season.
