Kai Havertz narrowly lost with Chelsea in the Champions League at Juventus Turin. He received criticism from Peter Crouch for his performance.

Peter Crouch has criticized Kai Havertz after the 0-1 defeat in the Champions League of Chelsea FC at Juventus Turin.

He found the performance of the German blues player “very disappointing” and “frustrating”, explained the former English international striker in his function as an expert at the TV broadcaster BT Sport.

Crouch: “Havertz reminds me of Mesut Özil”

“Havertz reminds me of Mesut Özil. Sometimes everything is easy for him and he looks technically brilliant. But he can also look lazy and clumsy at times and he can frustrate you,” said 40-year-old Crouch.

Thomas Tuchel, meanwhile, did not pick a single player, but rather rebuked the entire team. “We’re all disappointed. My players looked slow and tired. We weren’t fresh and that surprised me because we were in a good mood in training the day before,” said the Chelsea coach.

Havertz moved from Bayer Leverkusen to London in 2020. The attacking midfielder has made nine appearances for Chelsea this season. His yield: a goal and an assist.
