Golden day for the French delegation at the Tokyo Olympics! After the titles of Kevin Le Cunff in road cycling and Stéphane Houdet accompanied by Nicolas Peifer in wheelchair tennis in men’s doubles, the Blues won a third gold medal this Friday, September 3.

Fabien Lamirault sees life in gold

And it is to be put to the credit of Fabien Lamirault (41 years old), already crowned in singles during this Olympiad Monday, and Stéphane Molliens (46 years old) in team table tennis. The two men thus retain their title acquired in Rio.

In the final, they dominated South Koreans Soo Yong Cha and Jin Cheol Park. The pair hardly disposed of the Asians in the first match (4-11, 11-4, 11-8, 12-14, 11-8) before Fabien Lamirault did wonders against Cha (11-5, 10- 12, 11-5, 11-6).

It is the 52nd French medal during these Paralympic Games. The tenth in gold.
