Officers injured in fights between PSV supporters and Sturm Graz

Two policemen were injured in a fight between supporters of PSV and Sturm Graz on Wednesday evening in Austria. That writes the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung on Thursday.

Four men were arrested in a ‘large-scale police operation’, according to the newspaper. According to the newspaper, it concerns three Dutch people and a man from the Austrian state of Styria. An Irish pub on Austria’s Färberplatz was badly damaged by the riots.

“There were fifty Dutch and fifty Austrians in the pub,” police spokesman Fritz Grundnig told the Kleine Zeitung on Thursday. Those arrested are charged with ‘resistance to state authority and violating decency’.

The police had the situation under control relatively quickly, according to the newspaper. The two clubs will play each other in the Europa League on Thursday evening at a quarter to seven.
