Lamar Jackson called the Kansas City Chiefs his kryptonite, now they’re not.

The quarterback led the Baltimore Ravens to a spectacular 36-35 victory Sunday night with a stroke of luck late in the game.

The Chiefs appeared to be heading for a winning placement with less than two minutes to go. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, however, dropped the ball on a run down center into rivals’ territory and it was picked up by the Ravens.

They needed to get a first game to close the books. Baltimore took the gamble of succeeding despite a fourth try and a rod to go the distance while he was in his territory. Jackson slipped through the line of scrimmage to collect his 107th rushing yardage of the game and above all to offer victory to his team who spent the rest of the time on the clock.

The quarterback won a first duel against the Chiefs on his fourth opportunity.

The meeting had started badly for the quarterback of the Ravens, however, as from the first offensive streak, his pass was brought back for a defensive touchdown by Tyrann Mathieu after the first of his two interceptions during the meeting.

The Chiefs were in charge most of the game, even forging a 28-17 lead early in the third quarter. Patrick Mahomes seemed in perfect control as he distributed the ball well, throwing touchdown passes to Travis Kelce, Demarcus Robinson and Byron Pringle.

The Ravens defense rose in the third quarter to pull off the interception at Mahomes’ expense. It was the Chiefs quarterback’s first interception in September since he started his career. The Chiefs’ last passing turnaround this month was initiated by Alex Smith in 2016.

Baltimore followed with a two-yard rushing touchdown from Jackson to close the gap 35 to 30. The Ravens quarterback gave his team a first-time lead in the game with three minutes left in the game this time around. after a single yard run.

The Chiefs came up well at that point, but Edwards-Helaire’s fumble led to the Chiefs’ first loss of the season.

Mahomes ended his night with 343 passing yards, but just 14 to Tyreek Hill. In addition to his 107 rushing yards, Jackson threw for 239 yards, including 113 to Marquise Brown who scored a touchdown.
