NBA 2K22: Should you go to college or G League in MyCareer?

Should we go to college? It’s not just something high school kids need to consider, but NBA 2K22 players as well. 2K22 gives MyCareer players a few different options before heading to the NBA, as users can either go to the NCAA, the G League, or decide to do both. What should you do Let’s go over the benefits of going to each, as well as some of our thoughts on the process.

Should you go to college or the G League in MyCareer?

Here are the advantages of each option:

League G

  • Earn 5% permanent MyPoints accelerator to speed up your MyPlayer upgrade process
  • Look for sponsorship opportunities on holidays to earn venture capital and start building your personal brand
  • Prepare for the league as you take on NBA-caliber talent
  • Meet with the press to take control of your story and practice your interview skills

College (NCAA)

  • Go straight to the March Madness tournament and earn extra badge points by winning the National Championship
  • Gain more fans by performing on a national stage and proving you are a top prospect
  • Earn tournament attribute bonuses by attending workouts that teach you key skills of your build
  • Maintain amateur status, allowing you to sign with the G League after college (you cannot go to college after going to G)

Our recommendation

It’s a tough call, as both offer quality benefits. If you want VC and earn MyPoints fast, the G League is for you. On the other hand, college can be a great way for you to progress towards badges, as well as to build that brand.

It’s also worth pointing out that you can’t go to college if you join the G League right away. You can, however, go to the G League if you choose the university. So you might want to try the college route first and then upgrade to G to get that MyPoints accelerator.

The choice is ultimately yours. But, you’ll need to weigh the benefits of each and figure out what you want out of your pre-NBA experience before you become a pro.
