Napoli awaits permission for Ospina to save in England

Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of Napoli, approached UEFA to obtain permission from the English government to allow David Ospina and Victor Osimhen to enter England, the two players who less than 10 days ago were with their national teams competing in declared countries as a red zone by the British authorities (Colombia and Nigeria), which prevents them for now from entering the United Kingdom for Thursday’s game against Leicester for the Europa League.

Spalletti hopes that UEFA can help Napoli to avoid having to put in a less experienced goalkeeper for the first game of the season at international level and against a difficult opponent like Leicester. Given Meret’s injury, Ospina’s ownership was confirmed, However, due to the health measures that govern England, their entry into the country would be complicated.

Hubert Idasiak, the 19-year-old Pole, would be the one to take the place in goal if Ospina is unable to enter England. The team coach wants to wait until the last minute to decide the list of travelers. The British government’s response will have to arrive before Wednesday when the team travels for its debut in the competition.

Ospina arrived from playing with the National Team and immediately put himself under the command of the coach who chose him as the starter in the weekend’s victory against Juventus, where he received a goal in the 2-1 final. The Italian team is not the only one that has asked UEFA for help in managing the entry of its players to the United Kingdom, other teams have also done the same to avoid losing important men in the competition.
