Municipal Government organizes indigenous sports and games meeting

With the participation of 37 girls, boys and young people from the urban indigenous communities Pájaro Azul and Carlos Arroyo, the meeting of “Native Sports and Games” was held at the facilities of the Adapted Sports Gymnasium of the Municipal Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.

With the aim of continuing to make visible and promoting the traditional games of the indigenous communities of the state, this event was held where the participants held an exhibition of how the most representative games of their communities are carried out, such as female and male ralámuri wrestling , ball race, nakiburi, arihueta race, archery and four of tiles.

Antonio Rosales, deputy director of Adapted Sports and Physical Culture, pointed out the importance of continuing to generate these spaces for the promotion and rescue of traditions, for which they will work on training staff in mental dexterity games: chilillo and maco malí (fifteen – romaya), in order to be added to the services offered by the gym.

Juan Francisco Lara, president of the Association of Native and Traditional Sports and Games of the State, stated that this is the fifth year that the Adapted Gymnasium has been working to carry out the event, “the place has been given to the boys they deserve, our work as an association is that these traditions are not lost ”, he concluded.
