Milan: Olivier Giroud cured of Covid-19

The French striker no longer suffers from the coronavirus. He is ready to regain his place in the Lombard team.

Eight days have passed since Milan announced the positivity of Olivier Giroud to Covid-19. For the French, we feared a fairly significant forced rest, but it turns out that he is already on the attack to resume competition.

Giroud back against Liverpool?

The Lombard club has indeed communicated on the former Chelsea player, revealing that he is now negative for Covid-19 even if he remains in isolation pending his recovery. “AC Milan announces that Olivier Giroud has tested negative for Covid-19. Tomorrow, the player will undergo the medical screening required by the federal protocol for resuming sports activity”, let the Rossonerri know.

If the medical exams were to confirm the news of the day, Giroud would resume training with his teammates. He is very unlikely to be on the pitch against Lazio in the next league game, however, as he lacks training. While Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not yet fit either, it is the Croatian Ante Rebic who is tipped to start in attack.

Giroud’s return to the field could take place at Anfield on Wednesday for the shock against Liverpool in the Champions League. Or, at the latest, for the other shock of the week, scheduled on the Juventus field four days later.
