Mavs sign JaQuori McLaughin on dual contract

JaQuori McLaughlin has reached an agreement with Dallas to join the Texas franchise on a dual contract. The point guard will therefore be able to play in the G League with the Texas Legends while trying to gain a foothold in the ranks of the Mavericks, who seem to have been satisfied with what they have seen of him in the Summer League in Las Vegas.

McLaughlin participated in this competition with the Golden State Warriors, who gave him a chance after he was not selected in the last draft. With them, he averaged 10.2 points, 5.8 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 24 minutes, a performance that has earned him the opportunity to be part, albeit half, of an NBA squad.

During his university stage, the point guard spent two seasons at Oregon State and later played three courses with the Gauchos from UCSB (University of Santa Barbara). It was with the latter that he displayed his best version, averaging 16 points and 5.2 assists in his senior year, although this was not enough to convince any franchise that he deserved to be chosen on draft night. Now, however, a new opportunity has arisen that we will see if he is able to take advantage of.
