LFB: Valéry Demory replaces Stéphane Leite on the bench of Lattes-Montpellier

According to L’Equipe, Valéry Demory is back at BLMA, which he coached from 2007 to 2017. He replaces Stéphane Leite, who landed three weeks after his appointment.

Stéphane Leite will therefore never have had the opportunity to coach Lattes-Montpellier in official competition. The former coach of Landerneau, supposed to replace the Belgian Thibault Petit and signatory of a 3-year contract, was dismissed on September 8, after only three weeks of preparation. His position had been weakened even before his arrival with the departure of sports director Edwige Lawson, at the origin of his arrival.

Valéry Demory therefore signed a four-year contract with Lattes-Montpellier on Friday, according to L’Equipe. He takes over a team qualified for the Euroleague after reaching the championship final in May against Basket Landes and will lead his first training on Saturday.

The former leader of the France team had already led the BLMA from 2007 to 2017, winning with him two Women’s League titles (2014, 2016) and four French Cups (2011, 2013, 2015, 2016).
