Let’s go for a historic season – Joshua Maya

The return of the NFL causes me similar joy as I have to be back writing for you, kind readers, in these pages. For me it has always been a pride to be a columnist for RECORD, but a few months ago I made a serious mistake, which I continue to regret and in addition to losing my space, I caused an inappropriate image for my publishing house, something that hurt me too much.

However, I am one of the believers that it is human beings to make mistakes, but as thinkers we must learn from mistakes and not fall back into them and I assure you that it will not happen.

I also believe that people deserve second chances, in life, in sport and in all areas. Fortunately, Carlos Flores, director of Notmusa, and Carlos Ponce de León, director of RÉCORD, share that ideology and give me the opportunity, which I greatly appreciate and value, to return as a columnist, and I promise you that I will not fail you with that vote of confidence. .

A historic season in the NFL is coming for many reasons. Starting marks a new era with 17 regular season games, in addition, Tom Brady, 44 years old, will be inaugurating the campaign by unveiling the Champions ‘pennant’ at Raymond James Stadium, practically in every game he plays he will be breaking a new record or improving the ones you already have.

Today he will become the first player in history to start 300 games as a quarterback, an absurd number from where you look; Only once in his entire career has he had a streak of more than two lost games and that was 17 years ago. I don’t know how long TB12 will last us, but love it or hate it, what our eyes are seeing will be unrepeatable.

On the other hand, the Kansas City Chiefs of Pat Mahomes and company start the season with a huge thorn in the hole, but they have already identified what it was that made him lose his possible second consecutive ring and they remedied it in the offseason.

That offensive line should be a strength and not the weakness we saw last February in Tampa Bay.

The Bucs and Chiefs are the clear favorites to win their respective conferences, and if they both confirm their favoritism and make it to the Super Bowl again, it would be the second time in the history of the Big Game that the same protagonists are repeated in consecutive years, the first since 1993-1994, in which the Cowboys beat the Buffalo Bills in consecutive seasons.

It will not be easy, for either of them, in the American Conference, Cleveland, Buffalo and Tennessee have something to fight the Chiefs with. On the NL side, the Packers will want to win one more ring before seeing their figurehead of more than a decade, Aaron Rodgers, depart.

There are many stories to tell before the season that comes to us, we will do it during the course of it, trying to continue enjoying the magic that this League has, that spark like no other. Thank you for joining me for one more campaign.

Ah, I forgot! I’m going to look very obvious, but sometimes that’s the way it has to be, I think the same Super Bowl is repeated last year, but now the Chiefs take out the thorn and take away from Tom Brady the opportunity to win his ninth Champion ring . You?
