Inauguration – The Girardin sports center, a unique infrastructure in Drummondville – Vingt55

Soccer, baseball, running … also in winter

The development of a synthetic multisport field is a big step forward for Drummondville. It meets many needs expressed by the population and represents an opportunity for those who wish to be able to train in any season on suitable facilities. 9-a-side or 7-a-side soccer, baseball, running on the suspended gangway, and many others, these are all activities that Drummondville residents will have the leisure to practice throughout the year.

An additional ice rink to meet demand

Sports associations and the various Drummondville hockey, figure skating and speed skating teams, in addition to adult hockey leagues, including fans who play recreationally, now have access to a brand new rink. Ice sports enthusiasts will therefore be able to count on more time in Drummondville to practice and play without having to travel as much, as was the case in the past. This is a big step forward for families.

A remarkable architectural approach

The Girardin sports center, a flagship building that stands out from an architectural point of view, blends harmoniously into its environment. It is reflected in the transparency and simplicity of its form. Wanting to be a meeting place and activities, the experience begins with the outdoor public square and continues in a hall, immersed in light and animated by the action on the ice rink.

A running track overlooking the synthetic multisport field enriches the interrelationship between the different sports disciplines. A unifying gesture making it possible to participate in the creation of an important sports center, the Girardin sports center offers the population of Drummondville, in one and the same place, a multitude of sports and leisure infrastructure services.
