The little Mayennais now have their own gym! Like the grown-ups? Not quite. Here no treadmill or weight bench but courses, archery targets or hockey goals. “This is not a playground”, immediately warns the manager of the P’tit Club, Romain Freard.

In his room, located in the Aligned area To Laval, l’sports trainer of 27 years old wants to transmit the taste and the values ​​of sport from an early age, “but without the competitive side”.

A project that the Mayennais has been cultivating for many years. “I have always wanted to work with children,” explains the one who was the facilitator. Passionate about sport, he studied Staps (sciences and techniques of physical and sporting activities) in Angers, before leaving for the Canaries where he worked in a children’s club. “When I came back, I took a BPjep (Professional Brevet for Youth, Popular Education and Sport) to complete my training. “

It was there that he discovered Le P’tit Club, in Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). “I started as an apprentice before becoming an employee and then co-manager. »He participated in the creation of five clubs in the south-west of France. “I wanted to come back to Mayenne and launch the concept here. “

Sports activities from walking

In Laval, it offers sports lessons adapted to all ages. “From walking until 5 years old, I will give awakening gym classes. We will work on motor skills with trampolines, slides… Until the age of 3 and a half, lessons will be in the presence of parents. “

For older children, Le P’tit Club offers multisport lessons. “There will be ten disciplines in the year: boxing, tennis, rugby, basketball, handball, hockey, ultimate, gym, judo and archery. For 4-5 year olds, it will be a fun discovery and for 6-8 year olds, it will be more technical. “
