Guanajuato is crowned in the Bajío 3×3 basketball Tour and qualifies for a tournament in Ecuador

Drafting.- The state of Guanajuato had an outstanding performance in the Tour del Bajío 3 × 3 basketball tournament, by winning the men’s championship in the U18 category, which will give it the opportunity to represent Mexico in an international tournament in Ecuador, in addition of which he achieved a third place in the boys ‘U16 and a fourth place in the girls’ U18.

The actions, carried out in the Norberto Mena gym of the Ferrocarrilero Sports Center, are part of the classification towards the 3 × 3 Pacific Cup, which will take place from December 8 to 13 in Ecuador.

In the actions, the men’s U18 team from Guanajuato was crowned in its category after beating Jalisco U17 in the semifinal phase with a score of 17-13, and then prevailing in the final against Jalisco U18 in a tight match that ended 21-20. The team was made up of the Iranian Patricio González and Dante Hernández, the Acambarense Francisco Ramírez and the Leonese José Ulises García, the latter recognized as the best player of the tournament.

In the men’s U16 third place was achieved, after losing in the semifinal 20-19 against Coahuila and then defeating San Luis Potosí 21-11. The team was made up of César Vargas, José Antonio Chavarría, Gabriel Fuentes and César Zamora. Finally, in the women’s U18 they lost in the semifinals 18-8 against Aguascalientes U18 and also fell in the duel for third place against Aguascalientes U17 18-17 in overtime.

The three teams were led by the Guanajuato coach José García Neri.
