Giallorossi Win Dramatically in Mourinho’s 1,000th Game

AS Roma won 2-1 over Sassuolo dramatically. This is also a special result in the 1,000th match of Jose Mourinho.

Roma vs Sassuolo took place at the Stadio Olimpico in the Italian League continued, Monday (13/9/2021) early morning WIB, this was the 1,000th match for Jose Mourinho in his coaching career.

In this special match, Mourinho got a dramatic victory. The Giallorossi went ahead in the first half through Bryan Cristante’s goal, but Sassuolo made it 1-1 in the second half through Filip Djuricic.

Stephan El Shaarawy dedicated a wonderful evening to Roma fans as well as coach Jose Mourinho. He scored in injury time to seal the win to 2-1.

Mourinho immediately ran behind the Sassuolo goal. There the Portuguese coach participated in celebrating a goal with his players.

Roma currently sit at the top of the Italian League standings with nine points after sweeping the first three games. AC Milan and Napoli stuck behind because they only lost on goal difference. While Sassuolo is in ninth position with four points.

The course of the match

Roma had threatened the Sassuolo goal in the fourth minute. Through a corner kick, Gianluca Mancini failed to direct the ball right into the opponent’s goal with a header.

Roma’s second attempt came in the ninth minute. Jordan Veretout fired from outside the penalty area, but the ball was wide of the target.

Three minutes later it was Sassuolo’s turn to threaten Roma. The visitors’ first shot came from Domenico Berardi, but the ball was blocked by Rui Patricio.

Sassuolo had tore the Roma goal in the 26th minute through Berardi. The referee annulled the goal because Giacomo Raspadori was in an offside position before feeding Berardi.

Bryan Cristante brought Roma ahead in the 37th minute. The former AC Milan midfielder tore the Sassuolo goal after successfully welcoming a low pass from Lorenzo Pellegrini’s free kick. The 1-0 score lasted until halftime.

Sassuolo appeared sip early in the second half. Davide Frattesi spread threats against Roma in the 50th minute when his shot was countered by Patrico.

I Neroverdi successfully equalized the score to 1-1 in the 57th minute. Filip Djuricic beat Patrico from close range after finishing Berardi’s pass.

Roma tried to push back. Two minutes later there was a chance for Lorenzo Pellegrini which was thwarted by goalkeeper Andrea Consigli and Tammy Abraham’s shot which still hit the post.

Sassuolo almost turned around in the 78th minute. Through a quick counter -attack, Jeremie Boga fired a shot in Roma’s penalty box and Patricio was able to stop the ball with his foot.

A crisis occurred in the mouth of the Sassuolo goal in the 81st minute. The situation failed to be utilized by the Roma players so that the ball came out of the penalty box.

Roma won a dramatic 2-1 win in injury time. Stephan El Shaarawy successfully fired a measured shot after welcoming Eldor Shomurudov’s pass.
