Nagelsmann on Kingsley Coman’s heart operation: “It sounds more dramatic than it is”

After an operation on the heart, Kingsley Coman is not on the football pitch in the game against VfL Bochum. A game that the boy from the Ruhr area, Leon Goretzka, is particularly looking forward to.
When he was adopted as “Dr. Nagelsmann” after the extensive descriptions of the operation on the heart of Kingsley Coman after the press conference, the Bayern coach smiled. “Dr. Schiwago” joked Julian Nagelsmann and made it clear what he had previously explained extensively: You don’t have to worry about the French national soccer player.
“The operation is of relatively manageable risk, even if it sounds blatant. It sounds a lot more dramatic than it is.” Coman, who had repeatedly complained of breathing problems for a few minutes, should start cardio training again on Tuesday and return to team training in one and a half to two weeks.

“He had a slight extra heartbeat, a small arrhythmia,” said Nagelsmann. Something like that is not uncommon. “But of course there is a difference whether it is the greatest effort to go to the refrigerator and get myself a cool light or whether I am a competitive athlete.” A heart defect could not be detected during examinations, and a long-term EKG revealed the reason for Coman’s problems. These have been remedied by desolation.
In addition to Coman, Corentin Tolisso (calf problems) is missing against the newcomer, and Nagelsmann wants to give a few stars a breather. “We won’t rotate too much, not five or six players,” said Nagelsmann. “We want to take the momentum with us and want to remain successful in the league.”
Gortzka: “I make no secret of my love for the club.”
Leon Goretzka, who was born in Bochum, will certainly be there after a clear future against the old “love”. “He wants to perform well against his youth club and take the momentum of the contract extension with him into his own stadium,” said Nagelsmann on the day after the national player’s contract extension was announced until 2026. “That he is one of the most dangerous midfielders on this planet, that I’ve already emphasized. “

After starting out as a kindergarten child at WSV Bochum, Goretzka played for VfL from 2001 to 2013, which started this season as a climber with three points. “I’m really looking forward to the game and that you will play in the First Bundesliga again. They have been scolded for a long time as the insurmountable and I hope that they will soon be able to live up to the name again,” said the Bochum native. “I make no secret of my love for the club.”
