Falcao presented at Rayo Vallecano: bad memories of Andoni Iraola, his coach in Spain | Spanish League

Falcao García returns to LaLiga Santander and Spain celebrates his signing with Rayo Vallecano. This Thursday, the Colombian forward will be presented in his new team, with which he hopes to remain in high competition and in force for European football and for the Colombian National Team.

The ‘Tiger’ returns to a country where he became known to the world as a scorer of lineage and hierarchy. At Atlético de Madrid he had two spectacular seasons, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013, which the Iberians still remember.

At Rayo Vallecano, Falcao will meet Andoni Iraola, his new coach and who faced García a few years ago. And there are two bad moments, a couple of headaches, that the ex-footballer and today Rayo’s technical director will never forget.

Iralola was a right back and spent 12 seasons at Athletic Bilbao. There he faced Falcao twice and felt his entire breed as a scorer.

The first time Iraola felt the fury of ‘Tigre’ Falcao was on May 9, 2012, in Bucharest (Romania), in the grand final of the Europa League. Atlético de Madrid emerged as the champion by beating Athletic Club de Bilbao 3-0, with a spectacular double from Radamel.

That same year, months later (August 27, 2012), for the second round of the Spanish League, Falcao again gave a sample of his scoring power.

That time it was at the historic Vicente Calderón stadium, where Radamel Falcao scored a hat trick and Atlético thrashed Athletic 4-0, with Iraola as a witness.

Now Iraola wants Falcao to show him all his goalscoring caste again, so that he can give him a hand at Rayo Vallecano, which aspires to make an epic and historic campaign in Spain.
