Ex-PSG star Dani Alves is now officially without a contract

First, the club is said to have paid too little money, then Dani Alves went on strike in training. The subsequent quarrel was followed by the official separation between FC São Paulo and the ex-PSG star.

Now it’s official: Dani Alves, former star defender from FC Barcelona and Paris St. Germain is without a club. This was announced by his former club, São Paulo FC, on Twitter. The post said: “An agreement was signed today to terminate Dani Alves’ contract. The player was provided with a contract until 2022.”

This news is the result of a dispute. Just recently the Brazilian player went on strike, who won gold at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, took part in training. He justified this with unpaid wages. According to media reports, the amount will amount to the equivalent of 1.8 million euros.

“São Paulo is taller than a man ”

But that was too much for the club. He kicked Alves out of the squad and sporting director Carlos Belmonte said last week: “São Paulo is bigger than a man.”

The joint collaboration began in August 2019 when Alves moved to his home country on a free transfer from Paris St. Germain. It is not yet clear how the right-back will continue. On Instagram, however, he wrote to his fans: “I am not perfect, I am not inviolable, I am a person, a simple person. I never give up.”
