The English club withdrew this Tuesday from its online store, all products mentioning the French player world champion. The latter is accused of four rapes and one sexual assault. The club, finalist of the last Champions League, has already suspended the player until further notice. But he did not officially remove him from his squad. While he has disappeared from the online store, the former AS Monaco player still appears on the club’s official website, posing alongside Aymeric Laporte.
The information on the disappearance of the player from all merchandising was revealed on Tuesday by the English daily The Telegraph which tried to obtain an explanation from the club. But this one did not follow up.
The former OM and Monaco player is suspected by British justice of having committed four rapes, including three on the same woman, and a sexual assault between October 2020 and August 2021. One of the two alleged victims of rape is 17 years old.
