Djibril Cissé back to OM to train young people

OM has not yet officially communicated, but Djibril Cissé has disseminated the information. On his Twitter account, the former Marseille announces his return to the club in training functions. “Very proud to be able to help the young OM strikers (from the U16s to the reserve) with Toifilou Maoulida and Philippe Anziani”, he published. The message is accompanied by a photo of the 40-year-old striker with the Marseille jersey already on his shoulders and his initials on his chest. Cissé played in the club from 2006 to 2008. During his time in Marseille he scored 37 goals in 80 games.

The center forward has yet to formalize the end of his sports career. He signed with the Chicago Panathinaikos, an American D4 club, last April. The Ex-Phocéen was back on the pitch, after putting his professional career on hold for the first time in October 2015, following various injuries including two double fractures of the tibia fibula. Since then, Cissé had made a tour of Switzerland, with Yverdon-Sport until 2018.

This Thursday, Djibril Cissé posted himself on social networks on the plane, heading to Marseille, “the new office”, as he himself indicated. It remains to be seen whether his role within the club will be lasting. He should meet another Cissé there: Salomon, his nephew who plays with the U17s as an attacker.
