The club of 71 between 1 and 2 adds activities for all ages in its renovated headquarters / sports club La Plata
Deportivo La Plata joined the list of clubs that reopened their activities, was able to carry out transcendent works in the club’s headquarters and does not stop generating alternatives to add funds that allow it to be sustained and grow.
“One of the last great achievements for the club was the laying of the parquet floor for the practice of one of the emblematic sports of the entity: basketball. The other was the enhancement of a good part of the headquarters, with recovery work for different spaces and the painting of the facade of 71 between 1 and 2 ”, they described in the entity’s board of directors.
It should be noted that they also worked on the reconstruction of the baths. Meanwhile, another objective is to build new changing rooms.
“The new bathrooms were made incorporating showers and with the contribution of the basketball subcommittee (parents) electrical work was carried out, changing cables and lights,” said the club’s directors. From the directive commission they emphasize that they had “the support of different companies”.
Deportivo La Plata currently has about 300 members, who pay a fee of 300 pesos.
Meanwhile, the popular library of the institution has 10,500 books and members have the possibility of borrowing up to six books per month, they described in the institution. The club has a space for reading, research, using the internet, printing, board games, it has a children’s section with books, painting and drawing materials, available for boys and girls. The library is named after Dardo Rocha.
The club was founded on July 14, 1927 in the house of the De Marziani brothers. The first board of directors took Angel Odino as president.
One of the main sports that the institution has is basketball (male and female), which has been practiced since 1952. The entity is part of the Platense Basketball Association and has all categories: school, pre-mini, mini, pre-school, children, cadets, youth, under 21 and first.
Other sports and activities of different areas are practiced at the headquarters on 71st Street: country music, artistic gymnastics, minor and major cloth tae-kwon-do, historical fencing, judo, kabaddi (a sport with origin in India) and has a bodybuilding gym.
In Deportivo La Plata they also highlight the growth of artistic gymnastics, a discipline that gains participants as the weeks go by.

THE MUSIC ARRIVED AT THE CLUB
The Country Line Dance arrived at the club. It is a type of individual dance (it can also be danced in pairs and in rounds) that, as its name indicates, is danced forming horizontal and vertical lines with the rest of the Line Dancers.
There are choreographers in various countries who choose a song and create a choreography for it. They teach that choreography to all the Line Dancers in the world and in that way every time that song sounds we all dance that same choreography. That generates a union between all the linedancers of all the countries.
Country music generates an energy of great joy and the meetings that take place are truly a party. These meetings are held in different places and is typical of the Line Dancer, they explained at the institution.
A WAVE THAT GROWS
