If Elfrid Payton signed a minimum contract of one year with the Suns, the other former leaders of the Knicks are struggling to find a place in the NBA. Frank Ntilikina is still waiting for an offer and Dennis Smith Jr. could only get an invitation to the Blazers’ training camp, ESPN announced.
Very quickly removed from the rotation by Tom Thibodeau, the 9th choice of the 2017 Draft had first asked to go to the G-League, before being finally transferred to Detroit, without however managing to convince the Pistons to keep him.
At 23, the explosive leader will therefore have to prove himself during training camp, the good news for him being that Portland has only 13 guaranteed contracts, and that there is therefore a place to be made behind Damian Lillard.
Free agent guard Dennis Smith Jr., has signed a deal to attend training camp with the Portland Trail Blazers, sources tell ESPN. Smith played 23 games between Detroit and New York last season.
