Dana White gets carried away: “These assholes don’t know anything about it”

Dana White is an excellent businessman, who made the UFC a benchmark in combat sports, so he obviously has an ego too oversized than its stars. For example, he does not accept criticism, and when journalists dare to reproach him, he loses his temper.

For several years now, the UFC has been the No. 1 organization in the world of combat sports, it is quite indisputable. In parallel with the decline of boxing, which can no longer count on huge superstars like Mike Tyson in the 90s or Floyd Mayweather afterwards, theUltimate Fighting Championship took advantage of the emergence of a star like Conor McGregor to win and become ultra-popular.

Today all eyes are on the octagon on the evenings of great fights, even NBA players regularly react to the exploits of fighters. But it is not because the UFC is successful that everything is perfect internally … For several months now, a controversy has been swelling more and more: the salaries of athletes. It is no coincidence that the former champion Tyron Woodley agreed to fight Jake Paul, he touched his biggest career check, that is to say.

If the biggest names are obviously not to be pitied, it is much more difficult for the others. The proof, a young fighter recently had to ask for the help of his fans to be able to get to a fight and eat his fill during its preparation. Faced with this situation and the many criticisms, Dana White reacted without taking any tweezers.

There are idiots who know absolutely nothing about our business and who have told our fighters that they are too little paid. All reporters who talk about combatant wages are assholes just looking for attention. They literally don’t know anything about this business, the salaries and how we operate.

Dana White’s position is pretty clear on this subject: her athletes are well paid, and anyone who dares to say otherwise knows absolutely nothing about MMA and how to spin a club. This is very bad news for the fighters who feel aggrieved at this level, since an increase is obviously not to be expected.

And this refusal to hear the criticism could, in the long term, have a strong impact on the fans… Indeed, if Dana White refuses to take out the checkbook and meet the expectations of her stars, there will be fewer and fewer fights XXL. Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones will probably never be satisfied with a lower fee to offer fans the biggest fight in heavyweight history …

Dana White is happy with his salary management with his athletes, he does not intend to change his approach. Other UFC legends could quickly find themselves in the ring with the Paul brothers at this rate …
