Corona pandemic in Germany: vaccination rate is apparently higher than reported – knowledge

More than four million people infected with corona – the incidence rises to 83.1

Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, more than four million people in Germany have been shown to have been infected with the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen. So far, the health authorities have reported 4,005,641 infections, as emerged from data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) from Sonntagfrüh. The actual number of infections in this country is likely to be higher, as many infections are not recognized. In the course of Saturday, the offices reported 10,453 cases. A week ago the value was 8416 infections.

The seven-day incidence of new corona infections rose again. It was last at 83.1 – the previous day the value was 80.7, a week ago it was 74.1. This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 04.13 a.m.

The incidence of new infections has so far been the basis for many corona restrictions in the pandemic, for example as part of the federal emergency brake that expired at the end of June. In the future, other values such as the number of hospital admissions will also be given greater consideration.

The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was last given by the RKI on Friday at 1.83 (previous day 1.74). A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences.

The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time. This seven-day incidence is calculated according to RKI information on the basis of the date of notification to the local health department. According to this, an average of about ten days elapse between an infection and hospitalization, so this value reflects the infection situation with a noticeable delay.

According to the new information, 21 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 12 deaths. The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 3,768,400. The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 92,346. (dpa)
