Consob’s lighthouse on Juventus’ capital gains

«By letter dated 12 July 2021, the Consob has initiated an inspection of the Company, currently underway, pursuant to art. 115, paragraph 1, lett. c), of the TUF concerning the acquisition, by the Authority, of documentation and information relating to the income deriving from the management of players’ rights».

This is what emerges from the annual financial report at 30 June 2021 published by Juventus. The “National Commission for Clubs and the Stock Exchange”, in essence, has started a check on the transfer market of the Juventus club.

Under the magnifying glass of Consob the over 43 million euros of revenues from the management of players’ rights, divided into almost 30 million euros of capital gains, as well 6 million euros from proceeds from loans and other proceeds always for approx 6 million euros.

The biggest gains in 2020/21 were those deriving from the sale of the players Portanova and Petrelli to Genoa and from the transfer of Tongya to Marseille. The overall figure was in sharp decline compared to 172 million euros of the 2019/20 season.
