It was a good weekend for the forwards of the Colombian National Team, ahead of the triple knockout date that will be played next October. Falcao García, Duván Zapata, Luis Díaz and Miguel Ángel Borja scored; while Luis Sinisterra (assistance), Rafael Santos Borré and Roger Martínez had minutes in their respective clubs.
In Spain, Radamel was the great figure of the day, because on the day of his debut with Rayo Vallecano, he scored the third goal for his team in the 3-0 victory over Getafe. Goal that gives confidence to the top scorer of the Colombian National Team before a high-level season that has just begun.
In Italy, the accolades went to Duván Zapata, who scored a three-point goal for Atalanta. The ‘Toro’ was in charge of scoring the only goal for his team against the modest Salernitana, in a difficult match for the Bergamo team that was defined thanks to Colombian talent.
On the other hand, in Portugal, Luis Díaz continues his good streak at Porto and with a double against Moreirense not only contributed to his team’s victory, but also became the top scorer in the League (5 goals).
However, the striker who caught the eye this weekend was Miguel Ángel Borja. The Cordovan gunner gave Gremio the victory over Flamengo (1-0) with a header goal at the end of the first half. Thus, Borja became the Colombian striker with the most goals scored so far in 2021, registering 23 goals so far this year.
For Rueda it is important that his forwards continue with the good streak, as there are three games to come (Uruguay, Brazil and Ecuador) that can define the future of the Tricolor in Qatar 2022.
