Bodily harm: million dollar fine for Boateng – football

Football star Jerome Boateng has fined millions for serious assault and insult.

The district court in Munich had imposed a fine of 60 daily rates of 30,000 euros each, thus choosing the highest possible daily rate. The prosecutor had even asked for a suspended sentence of one year and 6 months. The judgment is not yet final, Boateng is presumed innocent.

Court assumes “a punch”

Accordingly, the court had considered it proven that the former Bayern Munich star, who is currently under contract with Olympique Lyon, had beaten his former partner and the mother of his children.

The prosecution had accused the 33-year-old of serious bodily harm. During a joint Caribbean vacation in 2018, the professional footballer hit his girlfriend at the time, punched him, threw him on the floor, bit in the head and insulted him. The court ruling, however, was based on a punch in the face.

Expert backed mrs

This was also supported by an expert. “The findings that were documented here can largely be reconciled with the description of the events of the co-plaintiff,” said the doctor. The black eye that the woman suffered is incompatible with Boateng’s version.

Boateng demanded acquittal

Boateng himself had always denied the allegations, declaring that he had just pushed his ex-girlfriend away from him. In doing so, she stumbled. The defender of the 2014 world champion had demanded an acquittal for his client.
