Billy Horschel s’impose à Wentworth

It was tight until the last iron blow in this final round of the BWX PGA Championship. On the Wentworth course, many were able to win a few holes from the end, but it was finally Billy Horschel who won in -19 thanks to a magnificent card in 65 (-7) without a bogey and a superb last wedge stroke at 18 synonymous with birdie making him avoid the play-off. A FedEx winner in 2014, Horschel won the second tournament of his season after winning the WGC Match-Play in March.

They are 3 behind him to have touched the play-off with a little blow. The leader of the first two days, Kidarech Aphibarnrat who may regret his 3rd round in +2 as well as Laurie Canter and Jamie Donaldson who respectively returned cards of 67 and 66 in this final day.

Shane Lowry out

Shane Lowry needed a Top 8 to get into the Ryder Cup points. The Irishman unfortunately missed the boat in this last round by making the worst card of his week to finish 17th at -12. It is therefore Bernd Wiesberger and Lee Westwood who are automatically qualified in the European team.

Levy best French

With a last card of 66 (-6), Alexander Levy made a good overall ranking and finished best French in the tournament. 45th to -7, he is two strokes ahead of Victor Perez who may feed some regrets. The Tarbais had to finish on the podium to have a chance to join the European team but will at no time have the means to achieve this goal this week.

Behind, Robin Roussel is 63rd at -2 while Antoine Rozner and Joël Stalter finish 67th at -1.
