Grosseto, 6 September 2021 – Gea Basket Grosseto has started to sweat. At the Grosseto velodrome, the team of the red and white series D started training. So the athletic training is underway, which the team of coach Crudeli will initially carry out outdoors under the orders of the trainer Stefano Teglielli. Alongside the veterans Furi, Ricciarelli, Roberti, Morgia, Bambini, Simonelli, Santolamazza, Romboli, Neri, the young Battaglini, Scurti and Mazzei are training, from which the club will restart to return to the regional top. The Serie D championship will start on Sunday 10 October for Gea Basket Grosseto. The quintet from Grosseto coached by Pablo Crudeli, who, due to Covid, preferred to renounce participation in the Serie C silver tournament, will resume its journey from a logistically good group, with eleven teams, which includes formations from the coast, but also from Pisa, Lucca and two from Pistoia. The Gea was included in group C together with Cestistica Audace Pescia, Basket San Vincenzo, Valdicornia Basket, Bellaria Cappuccini, Basketball Piombino, Basket Calcinaia, Libertas Basket Lucca, Basketball Castelfranco Frogs, Shoemakers Basket Monsummano, Fides Pallacanestro Livorno. The championship will start, as mentioned, on 10 October and will end on 20 March. The teams will face each other with the Italian formula with home and away matches. At the end of the first phase (from March 27), the teams ranked from first to eighth in each group will be admitted to the playoffs for promotion to C Silver.
