And from 18 to Anderlecht: Saief also left, before Kiese Thelin?

Practically a whole professional nucleus left this summer. By letting Kenny Saief (27) slip away at FC Ashdod (Israeli D1) on Monday, it is already an 18th player who leaves the ship during this transfer window. And there are ultimately only six loans that will theoretically return at the end of the season.

A hell of a household that could have continued with Isaac Kiese Thelin (29 years old). The Swedish striker had been authorized by his coach to leave the national team for two days, just to try to settle his transfer with Konyaspor. But the Turkish club ended the negotiations because of the financial requirements revised upwards by the agent of the player, at the time of closing the agreement.

Kiese Thelin made a good impression in Turkey when he was loaned to Kasimpasa last year. The transfer window ends this Wednesday evening there, but the Konyaspor option seems less and less likely. He is expected by his national coach on Tuesday in Athens, where Sweden faces Greece on Wednesday.

There are still solutions in the United Arab Emirates, where the transfer window is open longer. It is not the player’s first choice but it would be better than an extended stay in Anderlecht where he fell further in the hierarchy with the arrival of Christian Kouamé.

If Kiese Thelin were to leave, then there would only be two unwanted people left in the nucleus: Zakaria Bakkali (contract until June 2022) and Adrien Trebel (June 2023).
