Alexander Zverev breaks off the “Schlag den Star” game – scene

Duel of the giants gets out of hand. Handball player Silvio Heinevetter and tennis ace Alexander Zverev competed against each other in “Schlag den Star”.

“Schlag den Star” is a real hit. For the first time, two active top athletes competed against each other. Silvio Heinevetter is the goalkeeper of the German national handball team and his opponent Alexander Zverev is currently fourth in the ATP tennis world rankings (four places ahead of Dominic Thiem). Recently he even won Olympic gold in tennis. A duel that promised a lot of ambition and sportsmanship. But then came the handbrake crisis.

Right from the start, the two did not give each other anything for free and could take turns getting hold of point by point. But at Spiel came the turning point and the first crisis. With the help of suction cups, they had to climb up a pane and ring a bell above. Silvio Heinevetter was just about first. But Zverev doubted the result “I must have won, otherwise I’ll go” and demanded that it be checked again. Heinevetter joked that they weren’t playing tennis here: “Sascha, there’s no Hawkeye here!” It was also clear with the slow-motion video: Silvio was first.

Alexander Zverev apparently not only posts letters, but also when driving.

Heinevetter steadily expanded its leadership. But in game 8 “trunk” Zverev was in front – until suddenly he could no longer start the car. The aim of the game was to load the trunk like in “Tetris” and to unload it after a short drive. The tennis ace just couldn’t move and kept stalling the engine. That was of course a hit for the commentator Ron Ringguth: “What kind of car does he have in Monaco? Does it only drive automatic or what? Sensational, it cannot drive a gearbox!”

Elton also tried to explain to him that he only had to let the clutch come on slowly. But then it was enough for Alexander Zverev and he got out of the car in the middle of the game. “I forgot the handbrake,” he said, giving away the game victory. And at the end of the evening, Silvio Heinevetter emerged as the winner and went home with 100,000 euros.
