After their exploit in African and international competitions: Orange-Mali offers 35 million Fcfa to the various champion basketball teams

The general manager of Orange-Mali, Brelotte Ba proceeded, on Tuesday, August 31 at the Salamatou Maiga Sports Palace, to the presentation of giant checks to the various champion African basketball teams for having hoisted the national colors high during the African and international competitions. Each of the champion teams received 10 million Fcfa, 5 million Fcfa for the vice-champions and 5 million Fcfa for the U19 girls who occupied fourth place in the World Basketball Championship, Hungary 2021.

It is under the watchful eye of the general manager of the corporate citizen, Brelotte Ba, that this ceremony of thanks for the champions took place, in the presence of Amadou Traoré, first vice-president of the Malian Basketball Federation, Boubou Diallo, representative of the National Director of Sports and Physical Education (Dnsep), as well as several members of the federal office.

It is to celebrate the various champion African basketball teams that the corporate citizen par excellence, Orange-Mali, has decided to organize a large reception ceremony to magnify the performances of the players who have honored Mali. There are five (5) teams including two champion teams (U16 Girls, Egypt 2021 and U18 Boys, Egypt 2020), two vice-champions (U16 Boys, Egypt 2021 and U18 Girls, Egypt 2020) and one U19 team. Girls who occupied fourth place in Basketball World Cup Hungary 2021.

The two champion teams received 10,000,000 CFA francs each, while each runner-up team received 5,000,000 CFA francs and the U19 women’s team occupying fourth place at the World Cup was rewarded with 5,000,000 CFA francs.

Note that the CEO of Orange-Mali offered a special prize of 500,000 CFA francs to Rokiatou Berthé who won all the individual trophies during the Afrobasket U16 Girls, Egypt 2021. She won 4 individual trophies in the competition: best tri scorer, best player, MVP and best rebounder.

In her speech, the representative of basketball players, Fanta Koné, explained that they are particularly proud to participate in this grandiose reception. “A reception ceremony that comforts us and makes us proud to be Malians. Today our dear country is going through difficult times, but it will not capsize. Standing on the ramparts, we are resolved to die for Mali. Mr. Director General of Orange-Mali, Malian basketball players say thank you because it is thanks to your assistance to the Malian Basketball Federation that this discipline is making progress. We continue to ask for your support ”, she said.

For his part, the first vice-president of the Malian Basketball Federation says he is very honored to participate in this reception ceremony. “These young ladies and gentlemen have all honored Mali by winning trophies and individual titles and it is truly worth celebrating. We were with the U16 Girls in Egypt and we saw with what determination and commitment they won this trophy. Today, I miss the word to congratulate and thank these young African basketball champions. For years, Orange-Mali has supported the Malian Basketball Federation and has always honored its commitments ”, he said.

Brellote Ba, CEO of Orange-Mali, in his speech, said he is very proud to be next to the African basketball champions. “I am extremely proud to participate in this reception ceremony. You have been excellent in several ways because for years you have been winning trophies for Mali. It’s performance, but also consistency because Malian basketball has been on the roof of Africa for several years. On behalf of Orange-Mali, we thank you for all these results. Orange-Mali is a partner of sport and for years we have been supporting national sports federations, including basketball. Beyond the national teams, we support the Malian Basketball Federation in the organization of competitions such as the national championship, the Mali Cup and basketball conferences. Today, we are delighted to note that this support has made it possible to produce African champions ”, he suggested.
