After 42 years: Schnatzschneider corrected the goal record

Curiosities from Germany: attacker Simon Terodde from Schalke 04 is only four instead of five goals missing before Dieter Schatzschneider scores. As the German Football League (DFL) confirmed, the previous Hanover player’s record in the second division was set at 153 instead of 154 goals after a review.

So far, the 1-0 win in the Hanoverians in Bremerhaven (4-2) on July 28, 1979 in numerous statistics was attributed to Schatzschneider, who then also played at HSV and GAK. Due to different information on the goal record, the DFL carried out a control of the scene and now assessed the hit as an own goal by Uwe Groothuis.
