Real Valladolid Baloncesto yields to the greater physical power of FC Porto

They say that the trees do not usually let you see the forest. Something similar happened to the UEMC Real Valladolid Baloncesto. The absences did not reveal or intuit the team that the club has for the new season at LEB Oro.
Without pivots and with a clear resounding physical deficit against FC Porto, he made him want to and stood up with the logical limitations. It was good for the local team to shoot. Good feelings left by the homegrown players that Roberto González lined up: Mayorga, Raposo and Casado. Of course, the Valladolid team was all praise and fought the entire match, despite the fact that it made it clear that it was inferior to the coach by Moncho López. Next week with Raffington and the possible return of the injured Pantzar and García-Abril will be something else.

It was the first preseason match against a prestigious rival and with important absences in the UEMC Real Valladolid Baloncesto.
AND that was noticeable from the initial jump. FC Porto abused from minute one of its greatest physical power and the absence of centimeters in the paint before the loss of its two centers, Pippen processing his visa in the United States and Raffington absent due to a personal matter. Roberto González’s men looked like a youth category team playing against their first team. So the Portuguese left thanks to that physical superiority to a resounding 6-20.

But the RVB did not give up. Berg’s entry improved the team, in which the youth squad Íñigo Mayorga was not out of tune and that allowed them a 6-2 partial that brought them closer to 12-22. With the spirit of the stands, Roberto González’s pupils endured the pull.
At the end of the first ten minutes of play at the Zaratán sports center they were 14-24 in favor of FC Porto. The UEMC had not left bad feelings, although it had paid the logical toll before the greater physical potential of the Portuguese.

5-0 starting. Good local defense and the Portuguese team suffered. But the visiting defense was raising the level and the wrong shots caused the visiting team to leave again (21-36, min 17).
The points were falling in favor of the Portuguese, who went to rest with a difference of sixteen points (28-44).

In the third quarter there was a small tangana between Arledge and De la Fuente, which did not pass to greater. It was a physical match and there the Portuguese had an advantage.
The difference stalled at the moment in which Roberto González put four hypothetical starters on track with Kuiper. The locals came close to getting within ten points (41-51, m. 26). It was played from the free throw line mainly. At the end of the third quarter, the score reflected a 47-62 in favor of Moncho López’s men.

In the last ten minutes, FC Porto put Landis, the best of the Portuguese, in command of operations. The Portuguese were 19 points (47-68, min, 32), thanks to two 3-pointers.
Sergio de la Fuente saw the fifth by an unnecessary technique, the second he received. Kuiper, seconds later, went to the bench after committing his fifth foul. The difference reached 21 points. In the final stretch, the Portuguese team dropped performance and Real Valladolid Baloncesto was allowed to cut the gap to 62-75 with which the clash ended.
