After impressive second debut together Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo can be sluggish when fighting Young Boys in the 2021/2022 Champions League, Tuesday (14/9) night WIB.
In his return match with the Red Devils, nicknamed Manchester United, Ronaldo appeared in the English League from the first minute. Unmitigated, in the 4-1 win against Newcastle United, the Portuguese player scored two goals.
The two goals were Ronaldo’s 86th for Manchester United in the Premier League. This is also Ronaldo’s 120th goal for Manchester United in all competitions followed from 2003 to 2009, plus 2021.
What about the Champions League? The former Juventus player has scored 134 goals. Despite being the highest record of all time, Ronaldo’s matches in this continental event are not always easy.
There are several clubs that are a scourge or difficulty for him to break. The following are three signs that Ronaldo will appear sluggish when facing Young Boys in the European Champions League on Tuesday (14/9) night WIB.
1. Never Broke Young Boys
While defending Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, Ronaldo only faced Young Boys once. It happened in the European Champions League when Ronaldo defended Juventus in the 2018/2019 season.
In the second leg of the group phase, Juventus lost 1-2, and Ronaldo failed to score.
If you look at history, Manchester United actually has the upper hand. From the previous two meetings, namely in the 2018/2019 Europa League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team won twice by scoring 3-0 away and 1-0 at home.
Now Ronaldo had the opportunity to score his first goal against the Swiss club. This will not be easy, because David Wagner’s team is unbeaten in the last six games this season.
