Meanwhile, Biden tried to sweeten his bitter reception by handing out a few Dove chocolate ice cream bars with the signature presidential seal Breitbart.

Biden pushed back a planned trip to Chicago to focus his full attention on getting both the infrastructure bill and the $ 3.5 trillion social spending package over the finish line in the house.

He made his stadium cameo at the head of the second inning.

Gameplay was briefly paused when Biden greeted some cheers, which were then muffled by the massive boos from the Republicans sitting along the first baseline New Yorker Post.

Some activists displayed banners pushing the higher spending bill to gain support.

One read: “Our life is not a game[.] Pass 3.5T ”. Another warned more bluntly: “Democrats don’t screw this up.”

On the other side of the aisle, a few fans raised a banner that read: “TRUMP 2024 … TAKE AMERICA BACK.”

NO FUN AND GAMES

The president had spent the day huddling in the Oval Office with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer trying to get his agenda through a Congress that was at a stalemate.

Pelosi has scheduled a vote on Thursday to end the democratic disputes Adopted Biden’s $ 1.2 trillion infrastructure package, which received bipartisan support back in August. >

A progressive wing of Democrats has threatened to boycott the vote, calling instead for the president’s more expensive $ 3.5 trillion entitlement and tax hike package to be passed first.

‘ONCE IN A LIFETIME’

At the time, Biden was promoting the bill as a “historic, one-time investment in our nation’s infrastructure.”

The Infrastructure Act, known as HR 3684, provides $ 550 billion in funding to modernize America’s various modes of transportation.

The package breakdown is $ 110 billion for roads and bridges, $ 39 billion for public transportation, and $ 66 billion for railways.

Another $ 55 billion would go into the bill for the water and wastewater infrastructure.

SINEMA AND MANCHIN

Biden put on the charm with the two Democratic wildcards Sen. Krysten Sinema from Arizona and Sen. Joe Manchin from West Virginia to support the bills in bits.

Manchin was firmly convinced on Wednesday evening that he would not be imprisoned.

Manchin wrote in a statement: “While I hope that common ground can be found that would lead to yet another historic investment in our nation, I cannot and will not support trillions of dollars in spending or an all-or-nothing approach that would brutal fiscal reality of our faces of the nation. ”
