The Federal Police Championships 2021 will take place all over Vienna this year. More than 1,000 athletes want to prove their skills and win medals.
The Vienna State Police Directorate is organizing the 2021 in Vienna in cooperation with the Police Sports Association. The championships take place under strict Corona rules from 12.9. until 15.9. in the entire city of Vienna.
Over 1,000 athletes will fight for medals in the following days in the disciplines of beach volleyball, football, judo, track running, 10 km road running, skill driving (cars and motorcycles), golf, climbing, mountain biking, police triathlon, racing bikes, shooting, swimming, tennis and triathlon .
The grand opening of the championships took place on Tuesday evening. At 6 p.m. the police athletes lined up at Heldenplatz and then marched into the castle with the flag bearers. Also present: Interior Minister Karl Nehammer, Vienna’s Mayor Michael Ludwig and Vienna’s Police President Gerhard Pürstl. Afterwards, the opening ceremony took place in the ballroom of the Vienna City Hall.
