Wolfsburg makes six changes including Bornauw and … is disqualified from the German Cup

Wolfsburg was disqualified from the German Cup following the six changes, instead of the regulatory five, made by the Wolves coach Mark van Bommel during the Cup match against Preußen Münster on August 8th.

Wolfsburg had won 3-1 after extra time against Preußen Münster, resident of 4th division, in the 32nd final of the German Cup. Mark van Bommel then made six substitutions, one too many. This error was not noticed by the officials during the meeting. It was only later that we realized this and Münster lodged a complaint with the German federation (DFB). She ruled in favor of the D4 club on Monday. Preußen Münster is therefore in the round of 16 of the Cup to the detriment of the club Koen Casteels and Sebastian Bornauw, who is disqualified.
