It is now official. Arsenal have just announced the termination of Willian’s contract, effective Monday. He will return to his training club Corinthians, Brazil, after signing his contract. “The Brazil international joined us from Chelsea last August and has made 38 appearances in the 2020/21 campaign. He still had two years to run on his contract, but following recent positive and constructive discussions with him and his team, he will be leaving for a new opportunity with Corinthians in Brazil, where he started his career ”, specifies the Gunners press release.
Note that Olympique Lyonnais would also have made a proposal for an international contract with the 70 capes, but this offer would have been sent too late by the Rhone management.
