And that was also noticeable during Club Brugge-Beerschot. When Federico Ricca went on hard on an opponent’s leg, he could not understand from any side that the VAR looked at the images and decided that the referee’s yellow was sufficient.

“This is just red, period. There is no discussion,” the ex-Golden Shoe angered Eleven Sports. “I don’t understand what the VAR was doing in Tubize. When you see these images … there is simply no discussion possible.”

En dat was ook te merken tijdens Club Brugge-Beerschot. Toen Federico Ricca zwaar doorging op het been van een tegenstander, kon hij ook van geen kanten snappen dat de VAR de beelden bekeek en besloot dat het geel van de scheidsrechter voldoende was.

“Dit is gewoon rood, punt. Er is geen discussie”, maakte de ex-Gouden Schoen zich boos bij Eleven Sports. “Ik snap niet wat de VAR in Tubeke aan het doen was. Als je deze beelden ziet … er is gewoonweg geen discussie mogelijk.”
