Alycia Parks, one of the promises of American tennis, 20 years old and ranked 246 in the ranking, yielded yesterday in the first round of the US Open at the hands of Olga Danilovic by 6-3 and 7-5.

Despite the defeat, Parks still set a historic record. And it is that the young player connected a serve at 129 miles per hour (207 kilometers per hour). Same as the cap established by Venus Williams in the first round of 2007 against the Hungarian Kyra Nagy. The funny thing is that Parks entered the main draw of the last big with the invitation that had been granted to Venus, down due to injury.

Although the WTA did not give it official status, the fastest service ever in the women’s circuit corresponds to the Spanish Georgina Garca. The Catalan sends a ball at 220 kilometers per hour during the 2018 Hungarian Open.

The second in that classification is the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, with a serve at 214 km / h during the Zhuhai Elite Trophy in 2018. The Williams sisters were left with a record of 207 km / h.
