US Open 2021: Albert Ramos wins the third New York marathon for Spanish tennis

Ehe Spanish men’s tennis continues with a firm step in the US Open, the last ‘Grand Slam’ of the season. After yesterday’s two victories within five sets of Pablo Andjar against Mikhail Kukushkin and Pedro Martnez against James Duckworth, this Tuesday came the third.

The protagonist has been Albert Ramos, executioner of Lucas Pouille by 6-1, 5-7, 5-7, 7-5 and 6-4. The Catalan lifted a deficit of two sets to one and returns to the second round of the US Open four years later.

The champion this season on the land of Estoril will now see them with Alexander Zverev, fourth favorite of the table and finalist in the last edition. The German, Sam Querrey’s executioner, arrives with the confidence that gives him the Olympic gold and the title in the Masters 1,000 in Cincinnati.

Ramos, ranked 48th at 33, has arrived in Flushing Meadows in good shape and it is demonstrated by his performance in Cincinnati where he could with the local Taylor Fritz to later fall with the Italian Matteo Berrettini.
