(AGENPARL) – Sat 31 July 2021 UnipolSai Bologna and San Marino will compete for the 2021 Scudetto in the Italian Baseball Series. The final verdict came on Saturday evening, after the twentieth seasonal victory of the Bolognese over Parmaclima and above all after the sensational defeat of Nettuno, at the Steno Borghese against Godo, due to a bad start by Liguori, which the clubs from Lazio have not been able to recover. Between the Tyrrhenians and the San Marino players there are now three points behind and Mazzanti and his teammates will not suffice with a sweep at Serravalle. The super-challenge of “Gianni Falchi” is released in the third, after two rounds dominated by Raoul Rivero and Danny Rondon, with Bertossi and Dreni arriving home on Van Gurp’s joke thanks to a mistake by Rondon. Martini beat home 3-0 with a sprint of sacrifice.The Italian champions closed the match on the 5th attack with four points, on the Rivera relief. Parma is hooked to second place in group A by Camec Collecchio which is full on Cagliari. Collecchio in race 1 practically closed the scores on the second attempt, bringing home six players, two on Trolli’s single, after a hit and double by Pasotto, three on Alfieri’s triple (3/6, 3pbc) who then goes on to score with a stolen 6-0. Cagliari’s response was limited to Angioi’s point on Cuesta’s single at 3 °. The Emilians, supported on the mountain by Diego Fabiani (3bv-5so) and by the relief Nardi (1bv), in the final part of the match stretched up to 9-1 thanks to nine total hits. In the second match Cagliari took the lead on the 1st attempt with a sacrificial sprint by Danny Andres who pushed Gabriele Angioi to the point, on the base with a double. Collecchio’s response was not long in coming. Alessandro Deotto opens the second round with a homer on the right. Calasso, on the other hand, receives the base from Ponce and scores on the triple from Riccardo Flisi, who scores the 3-1 on Lori’s rebound. On the third, Mirabal’s team closes the score: Joseph and Calasso receive the base, Flisi beats a single inside. A bad mistake by the center fielder on Lori’s serve empties the bases. At 5th Calasso’s double brings Camec to 7-1. In the eighth inning the Emilians score four more times and close before the limit.
