Okereke and Deli on their way to exit at Club Brugge

There seems to be a solution in the works for David Okereke (23), the record transfer that has been sidelined at Club Brugge for some time. The Italian Venezia FC would like to hire the Nigerian from the Brugge residents – a purchase option is also on the table during the ongoing negotiations. Okereke moved from Serie B club Spezia to Club in the summer of 2019, but was never able to continue despite a promising start and a price tag of 8 million euros. There is a real chance that he will return to Serie A together with PhD student Venezia.

After the departure of Rezaei, Krmencik and Dennis, Club Brugge also seems to have found a solution for Simon Deli (29) at the start of his last contract year. The Ivorian, already loaned to Sparta Prague last season, is on his way to Trabzonspor in Turkey. Unless there is another better option on the table, the 29-year-old defender will work in the Süper Lig. Deli grew into a strong holder in his first season after his arrival in 2019, but then ended up on a side track. (TTV)

“Celtic offers seven million on Thomas Henry”

Various Scottish sources report that Celtic Glasgow will make an offer of 7 million euros for OHL striker Thomas Henry (26). That is more than ten times what the Leuven club paid when it took over the Frenchman from Tubize in January 2019.

Official: Michel Vlap to Twente

The deal has been around for a while and has now also been officially announced: Anderlecht is leasing Michel Vlap (24) to Twente. The Dutchman played on loan at Bundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld last season. He was too seldom able to make his mark in Germany and he could no longer count on many playing minutes at Anderlecht.

Union gets Japanese Olympian

Union has a new left winger bite. The Japanese Kaoru Mitoma comes on a loan basis from the English Brighton and Hove Albion, the team of Leandro Trossard. Mitoma was active for Japan at the Olympic Games in his own country. He even scored, in the small final against Mexico. It was to no avail for Japan, Mexico won and the host country had to settle for fourth place.

The 24-year-old played for Kawasaki Frontale last season, where he scored 30 goals and 19 assists in 64 games. Brighton plucked him away, so that he could be stored at Union immediately afterwards. Mitoma is lent for one year without purchase option.

Stones to stay longer at Manchester City

John Stones has signed a four-year contract extension with Manchester City. The Premier League champions announced this on Tuesday. The English defender, who came from Everton to City in 2016, is now linked to Red Devil Kevin De Bruyne’s club until 2026.

“I couldn’t be happier. I think it’s great to be part of this squad,” said Stones. “There are so many quality players here and I know we can keep winning trophies, which is my main focus. Working with the trainer (Pep Guardiola, ed.) is a dream. He taught me so much about the game and I feel like I’m learning something new every day.”

“The success of the past four years has been incredible. To be a part of that is a dream come true and I just want to keep winning. This is the best place for me to play my football and fulfill my ambitions.”

Sint-Truiden stables Jhonny Lucas with Brazilian second division

Sint-Truiden lets Jhonny Lucas Flora Barboza move to the Brazilian Londrina on a rental basis. STVV has reported this.

The young Brazilian midfielder (21), who made the switch from Parana to STVV in August 2019, has played three official matches for the first team so far. Now, in search of playing minutes, he makes the provisional switch to Londrina Esporte Club, which plays in the Brazilian second division. STVV started the season in 1A with four points from three games.

Thibaut Peyre is about to leave KV Mechelen

Thibaut Peyre (28) seems to be (temporarily) leaving KV Mechelen. The defender was in the stands for the first three match days and was told by the club that they are not counting on him this season. A message that hit the Frenchman hard – preferably he was still a basic player at Malinwa. Peyre has been a fixture in the past two seasons, but now has to tolerate Vanlerberghe, Souza and Bateau in the pecking order. He and his entourage are looking for a solution, and it would be in Ligue 1. Clermont Foot 63 is showing interest, although there are also other options outside France. If Peyre leaves, it will certainly be a one-year loan. (ABD)

Frankfurt borrows Norwegian striker Hauge from AC Milan

Eintracht Frankfurt has loaned Norwegian striker Jens Petter Hauge for a season from AC Milan on Tuesday. The 21-year-old left winger is set to replace Andre Silva, who moved to RB Leipzig after scoring 28 Bundesliga goals for Frankfurt last season.

“With Jens Petter Hauge, we add the next important puzzle piece to our roster. Our aim is to put together the roster in such a way that we have even more variety and are less predictable,” sporting director Markus Krösche said in a statement. Frankfurt previously signed striker Rafael Borre and has an option to purchase Hauge, who has three caps for the Norwegian national team.
