Tokyo Olympic Badminton Final Standings

KOMPAS.com – China became the overall champion of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics badminton. Meanwhile, Indonesia was in third place.

China is ranked first in the Tokyo Olympic badminton final standings with a total of six medals. The details, two gold and four silver.

China’s first gold medal was contributed by Wanh Yi Lyu/Huang Dong Ping who went down in the mixed doubles number.

In the final match, Wang/Huang defeated their compatriots Zheg Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong 21-17, 17-21, 21-19.

The success of Wang/Huang was also followed by the Chinese women’s singles Chen Yu Fei. Chen wins rubber game over Tai Tzu Ying (Taiwan) 21-19, 19-21, 21-18 in the gold medal match.

Under China, there is Taiwan in second place with a total of two medals, one gold and one bronze each.

Taiwan’s only gold medal came from the men’s doubles of Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin.

Lee/Wang won 21-18, 21-12 over China’s men’s doubles Li Jun Hui/Liu Yu Chen in the gold medal match.

Before winning gold, Lee/Wang also managed to frustrate Indonesian men’s doubles Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, a Taiwanese silver medal was donated by Tai Tzu Ying, who lost in the final to Chen Yu Fei.

Following behind China and Taiwan, Indonesia has a total of two medals, one gold and one bronze each.

The Indonesian gold medal was presented by Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu who appeared in the women’s doubles number.

In the final, Greysia/Apriyani won two straight games over Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan (China) with a score of 21-19, 21-15.

The bronze medal for Indonesia in the Tokyo Olympics badminton came from Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (men’s singles).

Anthony Ginting beat Kevin Cordon (Guatemala) 21-11, 21-13 in the match for third place.

After Indonesia, Denmark followed in fourth place. They came home with a gold medal.

The only gold medal was obtained in the men’s singles through Viktor Axelsen, who defeated Chen Long (China) in the final with a score of 21-15, 21-12.

Meanwhile, the fifth place in the standings is shared by India, Japan, Malaysia and South Korea.

The four countries both bagged one bronze medal.
