8:05 a.m .: shooting (rapid pistol at 25 m) – Sixth gold medal for France in Tokyo! Jean Quiquampoix, silver medalist in Rio, became Olympic champion in the 25m rapid pistol. The Frenchman achieved a 34 out of 40 shooting and signed a new Olympic record in the discipline. The 25-year-old Parisian edged out Cuban Leuris Pupo (29) and Chinese Yuehong Li (26) and brought the first French shooting medal to Japan.
