Can you tell us any news?
«The show was short-lived, due to a pandemic, despite this it“ aged ”after what happened. So I reviewed pieces and topics, so that they were current but above all fun. There is a need to laugh. And the “hot” theme is only one: time, which we have theorized. It limits us, haunts us, makes us feel our transience. Yet we feel we are the masters of time and of the world. Recent events have shown how fallacious this belief is. I hope the most touching moment is my reflection on tomorrow, on how I hope it will change, so as to leave a more human-sized world for our children ».
Off the stage, what is your summer 2021?
«I have not traveled in August for a long time, I usually work. But beyond all, my summer has changed thanks to the arrival of Niccolò. A newborn changes rhythms and habits, but obviously it is an upheaval that we like. However, I regret the freedom to take a plane and leave. Today you can do it, but you have to download form X which, however, must be confirmed with form Y, provided that you do not go to the country that requires an additional form Z to be filled in no later than three days after booking the trip and 24 hours after getting on on the plane. I do not criticize the measures taken, but leaving abroad today is something that you really have to want to do, otherwise with all the things to foresee, the desire passes away ».
Does Covid enter the show?
“I’ve thought about it a lot: am I talking about it? Don’t I talk about it? Then I decided: Covid will be an inevitable but marginal topic. I think people are looking for a moment of escape and don’t need someone who reminds them of the situation. Then I don’t think it’s the job of comedy to take a stand on it: too many conflicting opinions at the moment, and in my opinion some are not ready for reflection, which is what the comedian does with his jokes. Finally, talking about vaccines now takes on a political nuance and I don’t like exploitation ».
And Rome?
«There is, but only a smear. For years I have been dedicating thoughts to her in my shows, to be honest they are not always positive. But when you find yourself in traffic because the alternative, public means of transport are non-existent or are burning somewhere, just to give an example, it is difficult to look at my city in a benevolent way. It is not pleasant to go out and feel the stench of the bins emptied more and more rarely, but there you can find positive sides: the municipality gives you the opportunity to think carefully about what you throw away and maybe think again. “Look, we’re taking it away from you, huh. Are you sure you won’t miss the old stuffed animal? ”. After all, Ama are sentimental. Otherwise it wouldn’t be called “Ama”, would it? In addition, the piled up garbage allows you to see a fauna that was previously only found outside: seagulls at the sea, wild boars in the countryside. Now I’m under the house! This has a value! On the elections for now I am silent and observe. I hope that someone will be able, perhaps even with unpopular but necessary choices, to put the capital back on track and make it more liveable ».
Finally, future projects?
«The theater in the first place, pawing, I have a damned desire to get back on stage. Then there is an advertisement, a film and a book in the pipeline. But leave me a bit of mystery, I can’t tell you everything! ».
